'Wants' bubble not completing after doing said action... way to dismiss?

I am finding more and more whims/wants that my Sim asks for aren't completing after i do them, no points and the whim stays there for a long time... Has anyone discovered a way to turn the dismiss feature back on?

    @krae64825 They should refresh after sleeping (unless your Sim is a Vamp, then there's issues with that)

    There's also a reward potion.
