2 versions of Sims 4 on PS5?

Please, can anybody help?

I use PS5. I have been playing Sims 4 for several months without issue. I decided to buy 2 expansion packs and 2 stuff packs. I downloaded and installed. But when I opened Sims 4 it said I had no packs. I restarted. Still said no packs. 

I think this is where I went wrong - I went to the playstation app on my PS5 and it let me download the Sims again. I assumed ot would override the one I had already but it didn't. So I had the Sims 4 twice on my PS5. One showed my saved data but no expansion packs. The new one showed expansion packs but no saved data. 

I thought I must have made a mistake and deleted both Sims 4 games from the PS. Then I reinstalled Sims. But it still doesn't show any save data when I open it. 

I have realised that it let's me choose the version. It has one that I can play but no save data. The other version shows how many hours I have played it for. But there is a little padlock. It won't let me open it. 

Whyyyyyyy.

I can see that the save files are on the console. But I only have the option to delete them or upload to the cloud. So why doesn't the new Sims game recognise my previous saves? Do I need to download Sims 4 again so I have it twice in my PS again?!

I'm losing my mind. If anyone could help I'd be grateful 🙏
