Cant click x to start game

Turn off Your system completely, let it sit for a few minutes and power it back on.

Check that your game is fully updated:

• Go to the PlayStation home screen. 
• Highlight the game you're playing and press the Options button on your controller.
• Select "Check For Update" and install any updates that are available.
• Restart the Console completely.
  
  

Make sure your console system software is up to date. 

• Select Settings at the top of the PlayStation home screen.
• Choose "System Software Update" and allow any system updates to install.
• Reboot your PlayStation.

Uninstall and Reinstall the game:

• Go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Delete.
• Select a game or application.
• Set check marks beside the data you wish to delete or Select All.
• Select Delete > then OK to confirm your decision.

Hi, this issue has raised its ugly head for me again too 😔. I have tried all suggested solutions mentioned and have tried the fix that was marked as solved in an 11 month old thread referring to this particular issue, whereby you turn your console off from the mains, disconnect from the Internet and restart it after a few minutes. This worked for me previously but not this time. I have been trying for two days but everytime I get to the 'press x to play' screen my X button press doesn't register so I can't actually play the sims at all now. I had to quit to main menu without saving the night before this started as I had a freezing issue and since then I've been having the 'x button' problem.
