[FIXED] Sims 4 Crashing on Launch (Xbox Series S)

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Xbox Series S
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.76.4.2300
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Blooming Rooms, Get to Work, Growing Together, Island Living, Moonlight Chic, My Wedding Stories, Parenthood, Seasons
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When you go to launch the game, it crashes on the loading screen (after you select your xbox user profile)
What happens when the bug occurs? The game crashes and returns to the main xbox home screen
What do you expect to see? Game should launch
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Have tried to uninstalling and reinstalling the game / packs but made no difference

Update: Have found the game will launch if I go offline, but it still sadly won't work if online

Hey all,

This issue should now be resolved with today's update - Patch 1.77

Some Simmers on the new generation of PlayStation and Xbox could find themselves in a loop where the game would shut down before reaching the Main Menu if the console wasn’t set to be offline first. This should no longer occur, and you can now launch The Sims 4 while remaining online.

Please be sure your console's system software and game are fully updated.

Hi.... And here we go again....
After the lastest update for the Sims 4 the game doesn't launch on the XBox X. Please help?

@VirologicTuba7 I have the same issue but I can’t access anything, I load the game and then click on my profile and then click A to start the game and then it has the little diamond loading but then it like glitches or something and completely shuts off and takes me back to my Home Screen, I’m scared it is because I started using the cheat for more money but I deleted the game and reinstalled it, I have no idea what to do because I’ve tried everything

I have the same issue on my Xbox S - I can no longer get the game to launch either (it keeps crashing on the loading screen after I select my xbox profile).

New problem with the new update on xbox which came last night.
Updated the game as usual and then won't load and crashes on the loading screen. Please help me with this, reinstall it but still doing it. Please fix this I am on xbox series x

Xbox series X Sims 4 Game Failed to initialize.
When I start up the sims 4 on my xbox series x. I get to the title screen but when I press A to start the game loads to about 80% & crashes & sends me back to the xbox home screen. The game worked the night before. This started after I updated the game last night before playing. I just started the game again so I deleted all old saves and reinstalled the game..same. I tried to load up again this morning before work...same.

My XBOX is the series X
What I did, and I don't remember how I got there because my room mate helped me, but he says over the phone:
Select game, select manage the app, look for updates.
I went into Updates for the Sims 4. And I saw that 7 or 9 of my Sims expansions were not installed. So I installed them all. Then I restarted my XBOX and I loaded up the game and it loaded The Sims 4, finally. I didn't have to uninstall anything, I just had things that were not installed.
The game worked fine before the update though. Then as of last night 5/30/23 I tried loading it several times and it kept crashing after asking me to select the agreement. It would go into a load screen and kick me to the XBOX dashboard before it got to 20%.
I was looking for help, but hopefully I end up helping you guys. Take care.

Hey all,

This issue has been sent up for investigation with the game team, I'll provide any updates I can in this thread.

We have a few steps that you can try while this issue is addressed:

Launching The Sims 4 after putting the Xbox in offline mode This will allow you to play, but you will be unable to access the Gallery while offline.

If you have The Sims 4 installed on an external HDD, try moving it to the internal Xbox storage for the moment.

@EA_Cade Wishing your team have sucess cause I love the game, but it's getting so frustrating deal with the loss if all my galleries at each update... Thanks anyways

Hello.

While the team continues to investigate this:

If you have The Sims 4 installed to an external drive (i.e. HDD/SSD connected by USB or to the SSD slot on the back), try moving the game to Internal storage (if space allows) and see if that helps at all.

Thanks for investigating! Afraid mine is saved internally on the Xbox itself, so unable to test this.
While the game is working offline, it is still failing to launch / continuing to crash when I switch to online today.
