For Rent - Residential Rental Bug (maybe)

I downloaded a RR lot from the gallery and moved Sims in. Unfortunately I couldn't get the top right corner lot to be selectable. You can see the pointer lands on it but nothing happens (the pointer glows/pulsates too). When I click it I get sent back to the map. I tried making it a shared space, reloaded the save and then changed it back to a rental space, it still didn't work. I don't know if this is a rental bug or base game bug with selecting lots. Sometimes it's a struggle to select things with the control stick (like the map but I can switch to mouse mode so that helps).

I clipped it: (Gallery Lot in attachment)

  • I figured it out! Okay, I guess it's not a bug but a design flaw. If we could rotate the lot or have a mouse mode on this screen it would help avoid these kinds of problems.

Anyway, after trying all sorts of things and failing. This is a New Save that I used for testing. I tried placing the lot without furnishings and it actually worked but now I had to figure out "why it worked". So I loaded the furnished lot and deleted everything in the problem build till it was just a shell. Still didn't work. So I sat at this screen trying to think of what else I could do that wouldn't force me to drastically change the lot where my Sims live and then I focused on the selection points. The selection points were right under the rent icon and I realized that the tree might be blocking it. I have seen it before with debug buildings blocking the actual build and making it impossible to click the lot. So I deleted the tree and it worked again!

    Here it is!

I was so relieved and went to the original lot and moved the tree back by two squares and everything was working as it should. I am so glad that I didn't have to do anything drastic.

    Heya MrsBacardi

Is this happening with any other residential rental lots? Have you tried bulldozing and replacing this lot?
