Game save vanished with update version 1.59

Words cannot express how irate I am. The night before last was the last I played of The Sims 4. I had just spent SEVERAL hours building a home that I’ll never have the creativity or willpower to create again and then moved two of my favorite Sims into it.

I wanted to jump back on this morning again before work and when I went to do so, TS4 needed an update (version 1.59). I let it do its thing and went to load my latest save (and I’m absolutely POSITIVE I saved it, multiple times actually, before and after the building process).

The game save is absolutely gone. Vanished. The latest game save available to play is from 6 days ago and slips back into a game before the house even ever got built. I poured so much of my effort into that house and was proud of it.

I searched through my consoles saved data and even searched through my extended storage save data and the save is not in either spot. I never had this problem before until I decided to update to the latest version after prompted to do so.

So, does this mean that that game save is completely lost forever, along with all of my tedious efforts? Is there something else I can do? I’m on PlayStation 5. If I can’t get this save back I’m just going to have to be done with this game, much to my dismay. If it’s so easy to lose a saved game simply because of an update, then I don’t ever have to want to endure the feeling that I’m experiencing right now ever again, because I’m sure it will happen if the game is this unstable.
