Game won’t launch passed main menu—PS4

Application opens. However, when prompted to start the game by pressing ‘X’ it’s Unresponsive. Have done what I could, deleted the app, reinstalled it, checked for updates, troubleshooting options provided by tech support.... no avail. I’ve reached the point where I realize EA has no interest in providing a game that actually functions.... which is sad, for I’ve enjoyed the sims franchise since SIMS. I’d appreciate replies that suggest ways to fix this problem... my joys of gaming have been robbed due to technical errors, such as this and I’m prepared to give up completely...
