My Sims Saves keep deleting themselves

I play on Xbox one and this hasn’t happened to me until recently!

I had a save game that I’d been playing for a while, with the packs Realm of Magic and Cottage Living and had no issues with my save. Recently, I purchased Island Living and after a few weeks of regular playing my save disappeared! It wasn’t in my load game menu and my auto save was blank!

I tried signing in and out/ restarting, but it didn’t come back so I gave up and made a new save. This time, my sim wasn’t living in Sulani and the same thing happened after a few days.

Any help on how to recover these would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much 🤍

As long as your Xbox is connected to the internet, it will load saves from the cloud storage onto your console. If you weren't prompted to sync this data up the next time you launched the game, then that means unfortunately the saves have been deleted from the cloud storage as well, and would not be recoverable.

In the future to prevent any save file corruption, I always recommend waiting a minute or two to close the game and power off your console after you've saved so the game has sufficient time to complete the save. In addition, if you have a large number of save files, you may have reached the capacity limit for saves on your console storage. Try reducing the number of save files to be sure no other saves become corrupt.

    Hey there @Void_cats218

Are you getting any error codes or error messages, or seeing any notifications about a corrupt save file notification when you load up your game?

  • Hi, thank you for your response!

No, no error messages or notifications come up. When I press load game its just as if my save never existed. I'll attach a photo of how it looks.

My most recent one that got deleted was called 'Island', and as you can see that's not an option to load. (Neither is my other save that I can't remember the exact name of haha) The ones that are in the menu I haven't played for a long time, not since getting Island living anyway. Thank you again!

It sounds like those files may have become corrupt and were removed from your console. Were you prompted to restore this older save from the cloud, or have you tried manually restoring it using these steps

  • I wasn't prompted with anything, and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for on those steps, as there isn't a section on recovery as far as I can see. Are there maybe tutorials online?
