It sounds like those files may have become corrupt and were removed from your console. If these save files were deleted, unfortunately there wouldn't be any way to restore them. When your Xbox is connected to the internet, it will load saves from the cloud storage onto your console. If you weren't prompted to sync this data up the next time you launched the game, then that means unfortunately the saves have been deleted from the cloud storage as well, and would not be recoverable.

Corrupted save files can occur as a result of a connectivity issue or power loss when the game save file is being created or synced with the cloud. This can also happen if the console is powered down while still in the process of saving.

In the future to prevent this, I always recommend waiting a minute or two to close the game and power off your console after you've saved so the game has sufficient time to complete the save to the cloud. In addition, if you have a large number of save files, you may have reached the capacity limit for cloud saves. Try reducing the number of save files to be sure no other saves become corrupt.

  • No no error codes I save the game and when I come back to play whatever save I played with last is gone

  • Me too.

No error codes.  No sign of anything wrong until I start the game and my saved games are gone.

I've spent ages looking for ways to find the lost games with zero luck.

I'm playing the 100 baby challenge and the first lost file had 27 babies...  the second had 6.

Now I'm scared to play because I saved the game twice and lost both save files when I logged out and logged back in.

  • I figured there was no way to restore.

My first loss actually happened when a message popped up asking if I wanted to use the local or the cloud and I went cloud... I'd never seen the message before.

Second was probably because I turned off the Xbox too fast.  That's really handy to know - thanks <3

I only have 4 save files but I also appreciate the information regarding that 😊

My only concern was it happening again.
