PS4 Pro vs Base PS4 – What Improvements Does The Sims 4 Actually Have?
I was wondering if anyone here has played The Sims 4 on both the standard PS4/slim and the PS4 Pro and noticed any actual differences in performance or image quality.
Specifically, I’m curious about things like:
- Frame rate stability
- General smoothness
- Loading times
- Resolution/image quality
- Build mode performance
- Stability/crashing
- Whether the game handles larger saves or lots better on PS4 Pro
I know some games received PS4 Pro enhancements, and The Sims 4 is listed as PS4 Pro Enhanced, but I can’t seem to find any actual information explaining what the enhancements specifically are supposed to be for this game.
Has anyone found any official statements, patch notes, developer comments, or reliable sources explaining what improvements the PS4 Pro version actually has compared to the base PS4 models?
If you’ve personally played on both systems, did you notice any meaningful improvements or was the experience basically the same?
Side note: interestingly, the PS4 Pro Enhanced label also seems to be missing from the current PlayStation Store page. I’ve noticed this is a general issue with store listings lately — sometimes enhancement information only appears under certain bundles, DLC pages, or specific editions instead of consistently across everything like it should.
In the case of The Sims 4, I still have my original physical copy from 2017 and the PS4 Pro Enhanced branding is printed directly on the box, so I know it definitely used to be officially listed that way at one point.
Any information, comparisons, links, or sources would be appreciated. Thanks!
