[PS4] Sim won’t do anything, not even urinate from bladder failure

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.23
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Pets
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Ever since I moved my sim to the largest unoccupied home in the base game my sim has randomly stopped doing assigned tasks. She just stands there. Even if I exit out of the entire game and come back, she still won’t do anything/move. This did not happen at all when she lived in a base game starter home.
What happens when the bug occurs? My sim stops responding to commands and just stands there in one spot. She won’t even do the the automated tasks like when she needs to pee on herself for bladder failure. That stays in the queue as well.
What do you expect to see? Sim should do all assigned tasks.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

N/A

@PoptartJuniper thank you for the suggestion! That did not work for me, but I appreciate the effort. She was still stuck when I returned after doing that.

GENERAL COMMENT WITH A SOLUTION, NOT DIRECTED AT YOU:

I am a basic style simmer, I did not use mods or change anything, let alone the the furniture, when I moved her into this home. So I know it is nothing I personally did to the environment around her that made this problem happen (she just went to sleep, woke up due to her need to use the bathroom and was stuck standing beside her bed), but regardless, I found a quick temporary solution to my issue. I am posting it here for people who are google searching in the future who want something simple to try.

I first tried just moving away the furniture nearby, since one of my other sims would go in the bathroom and use it but then get stuck in there. That seemed to work for him. It did not for my main sim that this issue was reported about.

For her I found that moving the furniture literally on top of her/where she is standing forces her out of that position and, for whatever reason, resets her. She did not get stuck again in the few hours I played after I did that. But if she does in the future, I’m just gonna do it again. Annoying, but simple.

  • My Sims have been doing this as well. I've found it helpful to press Escape or Save, and do the CTRL SHIFT C thing to reset the Sims your Sim is interacting with, but it's a Bandaid. This bug is making the game very unpleasant to play and needs to be fixed.

@sleekoduck87 This actually has multiple causes which vary from Mods, to PC specs to just something blocking the Sim and it's best not to mix PC/Console on this one. If you have this issue, please make a new thread in tech for troubleshooting to see what's causing it in your case. If it can be narrowed down to something, a bug report is the correct thing but if it's just general like this, it's very hard to tell what's causing it.

Tagging @PoptartJuniper for help with troubleshooting console.

  • @alyssarof2016  Sorry to hear you are having issues. I've seen something similar in my game a couple times but one involved a birthday party and the other was a famous spellcaster so neither match your issue.

Let's start with simply powering off your console.

Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it beeps twice and the light bar darkens.

Let it sit for a minute turned off. In the meantime, let's make sure the vents around the console are free of dust and that your console is getting adequate ventilation. Sims does make the console run rather hard.

Once both those are done, power the console back on and load up your save game and see if there's any difference at all. Please let me know! There's lots of things we can try to help get you back into the game.

@alyssarof2016 Did you ever solve this?
This is happening to all of my sims on the lot.
    I am playing sims 4 on PS4.
There is a lot of standing around so by the time the sim can get to the loo they won’t get there in time then pee them selves.

Nothing in the way of the sims all fine but the game also has a lot of lagging behind

Just wondering if you got to the bottom of your issue with the peeing part of the sims and if there was any fix ?
  • I’ve had the exact same issue since around 10am this morning.

All of the sims in my house hold won’t react to their commands, they just all que up. Not ideal when you have baby sims who are crying.
