Re: Game keeps crashing when building
Hi there @old_lady08 have you tried clearing locally saved data? If you haven't done that before you just need to click on the Sims 4 on your console home screen with the button with 3 lines on it and it will take you to manage game and add-ons. Go to Saved Data and open that, you'll see 2 sets of data. Pick the smallest set of data next to your gamertag and select delete from console only. Then load up your game. It will do a data synch as it's loading up.
Once you're in your game, do you have a lot of save files or items in your library? Do you have previous Sims households with items in their personal and household inventories?
I'm on Xbox also. I keep my library virtually empty, I clear all inventories from previous households and Sims when switching. I never have more than 3 save games. It's such a big game and there are a lot of ways it can get so full up that it becomes unstable and starts lagging and crashing.
It also helps to keep an eye on Other Households. New townies get generated regularly and if they start to mount up it can also cause issues for you. So I check mine daily and clear some. It used to be weekly but now it's a daily task. If my game starts to have issues that's the first place I look.
There are players reporting crashing issues currently too. But I find that my game runs well if I follow these steps. Hope it helps. You could also try reinstalling your content and the instructions are in the guide attached here along with some more tips. I'm assuming your game and console are up to date too but there's info here to help you check that as well:
