Re: No room to save new households

@WolfDog127R What do you mean by different stages ? If you have aging on, the Sims you don't play age and all of the SIms go on with their lives when you don't play them,

They shouldn't however get married or have kids when you don't play them unless a Sim is already pregnant.

I'm not totally understanding what you're saying tbh.

  • Hi

Thank you for your reply. It is difficult to describe but for example we have a character who is living with another person as an elder, there is another games save with his younger self who lives on his own and another of his other self who is also an elder but lives alone. This may be a problem that we have created!

The main problem is that in all game saves we have a small amount of Sims, mostly the same ones over, but we are not able to save any new families even though our maximum sim amount should be 150.

    Many thanks

@WolfDog127R So basically you can't place more families in your save game ? Are you getting an error message when trying to do so ?

Save games are not connected with each other so what you do in one save, shouldn't affect the other save.

  • Hi

Yes, that’s right we cannot add more families. There is no error message. We click save and exit on a household we have just made and we scroll down our saved households where there should be a place to name and save a new household but there isn’t.

    Thank you

@WolfDog127R How do you place new families ?

Usually you can load the save game you want to place them in and then on the map (before selecting a house to play), you can create a new family by clicking on the button in the lower right corner. Once you created the family, you can place it in a house.

If you create them by starting a new save each time, they will each be in a seperate save instead of the same one and since you can only have 10 save games on XB1, that would explain why you can't have more.
  • Hi Crin

I see what you mean. But we cannot seem to add people to a saved game either. We did what you said, and if we try to save them as we did before it overwrites the sim family that was there before. If we try to auto save them they will stay until we do another auto save and then they get overwritten too.

I don’t understand why it says you can have up to 150 sims on each game save but we only seem to be able to save one household! Please tell me if I am just being stupid but I can’t figure this out!

Many thanks for your patience and help.

@WolfDog127R Maybe you could add some pictures on how you do it and what you're checking ?

Maybe we can get to the bottom of the issue this way. There does seem to be some sort of misunderstanding.

  • Hi Crin

No we haven’t solved this. We have 10 saved households. Is that as much as we can have? We have tried adding other households to other houses in our saved games but there seems to be no space to save them. If you can tell us if we can do that and how we can do that it would be really helpful.

    Many thanks

  • Hi Crin

i am sorry. I am a mum at the limit of my technical knowledge! If we had someone to tell us how to do it then I could check that it is being done properly. I don’t know how a picture could explain what we can’t do. I wouldn’t know what to take a picture of, which is why we were stumped before when you asked for pictures.

    Many thanks

@WolfDog127R I'm not exactly sure how it work on XB1 but you could always just use your phone and take a picture of what's on your screen.

Like show the screen of where you can't add more than 10
  • Hi

But I understand that there are only 10 game saves available on Xbox 1 so it wouldn’t help you or me. That is where we were trying to add new households before. Now I need to understand if there is space to save additional households on the same game save and how to do it. If you can’t do that, then my question is answered but it says you can have up to 150 sims.
    thanks

    @WolfDog127R

You can have as many households per save game as you like (or as there is room).

The 150 limit is for Sims save from culling. So you can have up to 150 Sims in my households which makes makes them save from culling

    So basically do this

    1. Load one of your saves you want to add a new housheold to

    2. Make sure you don't click on any household (if there is already one selected, click anywhere on the map that's not a house, that should unselect or select a house that has no one living there

    3. In the lower right corner you see an icon of a little Sim. Click on that (see picture)

    4. This will take you to CAS to create a new household

    Or

    1. Load any house in the neighborhood you want Sims to move into and then click on the empty house and choose: Move in household from Gallery (see Pic 2)

This way you can add any household from the gallery or your library
