Re: Please Fix Constant Crashing On PS5

Platform:PlayStation 5
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.71
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All but Growing Together and a couple kits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a save. Have a fully updated ps5 and fully updated Sims 4. Attempt to load Sims 4. IF that manages to load, attempt to load a household. Any household.
What happens when the bug occurs? Game crashes.
What do you expect to see? To load game and be able to play.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Bad crashing was noticeable before, I think it really got bad around Werewolves. However. It became Exponentially worse directly after patch 1.70 Before I could at least load the game up. Now a good amount of time the game crashes before I can even try to load a save.

Yesterday I got on after 58 attempts. Which took hours.

The day before was much better, it "only" took 32 tries and over an hour. 

I've given up trying today after 13. I just don't have the patience for it.

And I'm furious because I Want to play with the infants. I Want to buy the new expac. But there is no reason to buy it if I can't even play what I already have.

    It's crashing for me evertime I try to travel off lot or exit build mode. On PS5.

    Do you have fairly large or old save files that you've been playing on for quite awhile? 

    @chauncy913 

    Are you getting a numbered error code when this happens, and is this only happening on this particular save file?

    @EA_Solaire Yes, I only have one save file and I've been playing it for years. However it shouldn't be too large. I don't have 100 sims, townies included. Nor do I make giant ultra cluttered builds.

    The error code i got was CE-108255-1. I've been playing in this save since High School Years came out.

    Thank you for this information! If you've been playing with this save file for several years, it's most likely a larger save file at this point. These crashing issues can happen with older and large save files, so we may need to delete the save data from your console and online storage in order to clear this crashing up. 

    Before doing this, I'd recommend uploading any households or builds that you want to keep to your online Gallery so you do not lose access to them. Once they're stored in the online Gallery (not your local library in the Gallery) please delete all the save data for The Sims 4 from your console and online storage. After you've started a new save file, you can redownload your saved families and builds from the Gallery.

    To delete the save data from your console storage, follow these steps:

    • Go to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings
    • Select Saved Data 
    • Select Console Storage > Delete
    • Tick the box next to the files you want to delete and select Delete

    To delete the save data from your cloud storage, follow these steps:

    • Go to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings.
    • Select Saved Data
    • Select Cloud Storage and select The Sims 4 > Delete

    Let me know if you see an improvement with the crashing once you've tried this please!

    @chauncy913 

    Are you seeing this crashing on a new save file as well, or with any other households/lots on this affected save? Please give the steps here a try for me and let me know how this works for you.

    @chauncy913I dont know if this might help ive been playing the same save file since sims 4 came to console i transferred it from ps4 but last week it started doing the same thing crashing when exiting build buy cas and travelling then i noticed it only did it in certain worlds mainly larger ones like windenburg so i moved back to sulani and it was fine no more crashing and ive just purchased the new pack and fingers crossed its ok there too i hope this might help you too so you dont have to delete your save 😀

    It seems like my apartment was the problem. It was fine before the update. I just moved my sims to a regular lot and its fine now.
