Hi @lord-Ewing @kretzyGG69,

I'm sorry to read you had this problem to save your game. Unfortunately, we cannot reset the trial time, but I would like to suggest a workaround in case this happens again:

If your game freezes when you try to save, make your Sims travel somewhere - this will make your game auto save. Next time you open the game, select to load the autosave, and you should find your Sims in the same point they were just before travelling.

Please, give this a try and let us know if it works for you.

    I did try that last night also, it still would not even auto-save.

    Thanks for the information, sorry to read the workaround didn't work for you, @lord-Ewing.

    For everyone: Would you mind answering some questions so we can investigate this better?:

     

    1. Were you in live mode, build/buy mode, manage worlds or travelling when you tried to save and this started to happen?
    2. How many Sims did you have in your household?
    3. What lot were you playing on? In that lot, did you have the default house/building or did you buy/build on it?
    4. Did you travel between worlds before trying to save?

    To answer your questions Mai it's hard to pinpoint when it happens but this is exactly what I did step by step.

    Made a sim set him up in willow creek on the bargain bend lot I bought and sold items to get rid of all money so I could start with nothing and no cheats used. I then travelled to the park in willow creek and began looting all e collectable items, rocks and frogs. I did some fishing went to the toilet there. Slept there on the benches. Played on the chess set and spoke to some people. Eventually I returned to my home and built a few items. A bed and toilet then I tried to save the game and it did what it does to everyone else. I tried to save the game in live mode. Build mode I changed to another location to auto save but it did not. I then also tried to save while quitting but it froze and would not let me save and also would not let me return to the menu unless I saved without quitting it would just freeze until using left stick click to bring up controls. I hope this helps.

    Forgot to add I had a single sim in both saves that stopped working I had a male ands female so it's not gender specific

    It seems as if it’s happening after traveling and for me when I try to save it won’t let me and it will seem frozen but if i press The left stick to pull up the controls it’ll let me get out of the frozen screen, but either way you can’t save.

    Thanks for that, @Aevc1. What makes you think it's happening after travelling? Can you save if you load the game, and play in the house, but not if you travel and then try to save?

    Could you also please answer these questions?:

    1. Were you in live mode, build/buy mode, manage worlds or travelling when you tried to save and this started to happen?
    2. How many Sims did you have in your household?
    3. What lot were you playing on? In that lot, did you have the default house/building or did you buy/build on it?
    4. Did you travel between worlds before trying to save?

    I think it’s when traveling because the first time it happens was when i switched the area i was living in and the second time it happened was when I traveled to the desert area on a date both times I was in live mode when I tried to save. I also tried saving in build mode. The first time it was just me in the house the second time I had two sims. I traveled before trying to save. When I started the game I was in newcrest at twin oracle point I built a house there saved it and moved to the 50 x 50 lot in willow creek and tore down the house and put mine in its place. Everything was working fine for a bit but when i went to oasis spring and came back I couldn’t save anymore.

    Hi,

    I have answered your questions below:

    1. I was in live mode when I first noticed the issue, however I tried saving in all modes, build, travelling etc after and had the same issue with them all.

    2. I had a 1 sim household.

    3. I was in the furnished Steamlet Single lot in Willow Creek.

    4. I do believe I did travel to the park & back again before I noticed the issue with unable to save.

    Is this a known issue that is now being investigated? Will this happen in the actual purchased game of Sims 4 also?

    I've tried to replicate it with a blank slate sim and travelled all over but it isn't stopping me from saving. Must be some kind of combination of actions that causes it to mess up.

    1. I was in live mode
    2. On my last actual save, I had one sim but on the save I was trying to do, I had moved in a sim
    3. I was in the Willow Forest (the lot that the Goths live on) or whatever it’s called and I had bought a default house that was furnished
    4. Yes I did travel before trying to save.

    My game will not save nor can I travel.  I pre ordered so I can play early just to have my progress lost.  Also the crtain functions are not working.  Is EA working on this issue because I see lots of players are having the same issue.  I am playing on a PS4

    1. I was in live mode
    2. 1 sim in household
    3. The Forgotten Hollow at the Widowshild townhome. The default house. Did not buy or build anything on it.
    4. Yes I traveled between worlds before trying to save.

    When I click save it just sits here on the pause screen. I have to turn my controller off an on or go to the control screen and back off of it but it never does save. I do not even show an auto save.

    Same as Aevc. Mine won't save and if i try, it just freezes until i press L3 in to bring up the controls which unfreezes it, but still won't save.

    Happened last night and lost 2hrs worth of gaming. Tried again this morning and same thing happening. It makes the game completely unplayable as there is zero point if it doesn't save progress.

    It definitely has something to do with traveling. As long as you stay in your home and let your sims go to work and invite people to your house when need to socialize you should be fine. If you feel like you need to travel to a different lot make sure you save first. Hopefully it gets patched soon

    I'm concistantly having save issues as well. Any time my Sim leaves the lot or I go Out in to the world it saves everything as if it never happened. (This includes moving sims in). When manually saving on 'save' the system freezes completely and the only way to get it back is to pull out the controller battery, put it back in and then it doesn't always work.
    Not worth playing if I can't get anywhere or leave my lot. - Uninstalled and reinstalled the whole game. Issue still prevails.

    I traveled all over the place and it did not auto save. I lost all my played time yesterday. It did not autosave except for once, and refuses to save manually at all. I am re installing everything, which will take hours.

    No need to uninstall just reboot the game and you'll be able to save again. Just make sure you dont travel again until this issue gets fixed

    For those who say that bugs are bound to happen in "early access," this isn't a beta/incomplete version of the game.

    They might be looking for issues that they can address prior to Friday, which is the normal and main release, but "early access" in this case literally just means you're paying in part to get it a few days before the main release.

    Same as Star Wars Battlefront II Deluxe Trooper Edition. This save issue shouldn't have made it to any released version.

    too late lol.  Already started the re downloading of the game and all the bits.

    Ok You know, I had the sims 3 on my 360. I was so annoyed with the lack of support and the bugs, and EA just basically abandoning the game after cashing in that I said I would never do it again. I saw people playing it in streams from the ea access trial and no one said anything about not being able to save the game. I assumed everything was all good.

    Why did I not listen to me??

    Found a temporary fix that works for me! Instead of saving your game, hit “manage worlds”, then go straight to worlds without saving. Immediately press the menu buto and return to main menu, again, without saving. Go back and load the auto save for your character and it SHOULD work. It has worked for me! Still, would love a bug fix ASAP please EA.

    I should probably add on to what I wrote above ^ I have done this a few times now and it seems to work every time. I’m on Xbox One.
