Game not working

Having issues with my game. Most of my packs aren’t working. I can’t even play the game. I try loading a saved game and it says some content is missing and needs to be loaded or installed in order to play. When I try clicking the view packs option nothing happens. Nothing loads. But it says if I play the save without the content it could corrupt my game and make it unplayable? What do I do??

This is happening to me, too. In addition, it says that I'm not logged in and there's no moola in my account but I know I had 200 moola in there. I am definitely logged into my Xbox account!

Just went into my game library on my PlayStation. Clicked on sims and went to add ons. Showed about 7 packs were uninstalled. Just reinstalled them. Now my game is working. Not sure about your moola issue but for the packs problem maybe try that?

In my game, it just shows that the one maker pack I bought was missing, and to re-download it, but when I try it says that my account is not linked. But it is linked for sure! And this only happens in one of my saves, the save that I was in when I first purchased the Maker Pack.

I was finally able to fix it. Even though I was signed into my Xbox account on my Xbox console, I discovered that I had been signed out of my Xbox account on the internet (on my computer) while I was searching for answers. Once I re-signed in on my computer, I was then able to link my account in the Sims, and when I re-started the game I just had to re-download the missing Maker Pack.

So I think the problem had to do with Microsoft and their weird account sign-ins. I don't know why it showed that I was still signed in on my console, but at least I got it to work in the end.

Okay, I guess I spoke too soon. This definitely seems like a bug to me, related to the endless pop-up windows since that latest console update. I'm currently in the process of clearing the persistent memory, clearing the reserved space, signing out of my Xbox account, signing back in to my Xbox account, re-linking, restarting game, ad infinitum, it seems. so far today I've spent almost an hour trying to log in and get the marketplace to show up. This is ridiculous! Everything was working before the March/April 2026 update.

Heya Lights_Reprisal Are all your packs showing normally in your game again now that you've reinstalled all your content?

fatalmoon65 Could you attach a screenshot to your post of the error you're seeing please?

Here is the first thing I see when I start the game. Notice that my gamertag shows that I'm connected and signed in, but there is no moola showing (should be 200 after I bought the maker pack.)

I have to go into Game Options>Other>Link EA Account. It will tell me I need to restart, but when I do, I still get the above screen again. So then I have to exit again, sign out of my Xbox account and then sign back in. Then I go into Xbox preferences and "clear persistent storage" and then go to the Sims "Manage Games and Add-Ons" on the Xbox, delete the 1GB of extra space that always gets created (that is right underneath the game file), then restart. And 4-5 times of doing that later, it will finally show this:

Then can look in the marketplace and see the pack but it has been uninstalled

I was able to install the make pack at this point, so it looked like this:

I get this error message almost every time I have to start the game, which is what makes me have to clear the persistent storage and clear the extra storage (sorry I forgot the name of it but it's the extra storage that gets generated underneath the actual game file when I look at the info for the Sims under "Manage Games and Add Ons." I don't know if it has anything to do with this but here's a picture of what it says:

Same here! It brings me to re-buy packs I’ve already had installed 😕

fatalmoon65 Bri00 Thanks for these details, let's try the following to clear this up:

    Power cycle your console:

    • Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    • Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
    • Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
    • Plug the console power cable back in.
    • Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

Check that your game is fully updated:

To set your console to automatically receive updates:

    • Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    • Select System > Settings > System > Updates & downloads.
    • Select Keep my console up to date for console and Keep my games & apps up to date for games and apps.

Check that your console system software is updated:

    • Make sure your console is connected to the internet, and then press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    • Select System > Settings > System > Updates & downloads.
    • Under Updates, you’ll see:
      • Console update available. Select this button to begin your update, or
      • No console update available. This means your console is up to date

Delete your Sims 4 save files (Note! Please save your households/lots to your online Gallery before doing this step or you will permanently lose your families/builds)

    • On Home, select My games & apps.
    • Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game & add-ons.
    • In the menu on the left side of the screen, scroll down to Saved data, then highlight the saved data for your gamertag on the right and press the A button on your controller.
    • You'll be prompted to confirm deletion of this game save data:
      • Delete everywhere removes your saved data from this console, the cloud, and all other consoles you play on. You do not want to sync the Autosave from the cloud, you want the game to make a new one.

    Uninstall and Reinstall the game:

    Uninstall

    • Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then select My games & apps > See all > Games.
    • Highlight the game you want to uninstall, press the Menu button select Uninstall, and then follow the prompts.

    Reinstall

    • You can then reinstall the game by inserting the disc or downloading it again from the Microsoft Store or Xbox Game Pass, or go to My games & apps > Full library.
    • DLC - Highlight the Sims 4 on the dashboard. Press the Menu button, Select Manage Games and Addons. Install all the DLC from there.

I'm having the exact same problem. It hasn't been fixed at all. Every time I think I have it working, I'll close the game and when I start it again, it has unlinked my account and won't link it again. I don't think I should have to reset my Xbox every single time I want to play my game. Something is really wrong here.
