Seems to have been fixed in the patch, for me at least!! :)

I play on PS 5, and my tasks just disappeared in week 2, now it won’t show me Any tasks, only a reaper symbol to remind me how I’ve been SCREWED! I’ve deleted and reinstalled game 3 times. Still the same bs. I’m going back to Sims 2 and 3 and Definitely Not buying new pack unless they fix this crap.
