Save code error 0 Xbox one

Experiencing an error where I cannot save my game. It reads "error code:0". It deleted my save file.

Things I've tried:

*Clearing the cache by unplugging the Xbox.

*Clearing additional space on my Xbox (I was at 83% full now I'm at 23%"

*Contacting customer support via phone and being told it would be restored within 24-72 hours. And that I would receive email updates of the progress.( I did not and then I waited 7 days)

*Contacting customer support via chat and being sent a random link that had nothing to do with the problem I was experiencing AND that wasn't even for the console I was playing on and then them existing the chat before we were finished speaking.

*Giving up on customer support and hope of getting it back and starting my file over again with the same character and world. - but it still shows error code zero and won't save. It won't even auto save when traveling or going to manage worlds.

*Trying a brand new character in a brand new world. Same result.

*Making sure neighborhood stories are turned off (they already were)

*Testing one of my other save files to see if it was isolated to only one file.....it was not and showed the same code and has now deleted that file too.

Please.Help. Seriously I'm begging. I just want to love this game!!!

With that many save files in use, it does sound like some of them need to be cleared out, especially if they are quite old or large. Please check through your current save files and delete some older ones you no longer need, let me know if that helps.

  • @Tinky0221 I have been experiencing this also, and I think it has something to do with the "painting by reference" feature? All of my paintings by reference, both in personal inventory and on the walls, was blacked out. I had to delete all of them and restart the game. To OP, try saving as a new game next time, that did work for me. But I'm terrified to play now because I'm worried I won't be able to save!

    Hi @Tinky0221

This error message typically means you're running low on storage space for The Sims 4 - do you currently have a lot of saved items from The Gallery stored in your Library? Please try removing some of your saved lots, rooms or households from your Library in The Gallery, let me know if that clears up this error for you and allows you to save.

Are you currently using all 10 available save file slots in-game? If so, you may need to delete older save file slots that you're no longer playing with.

Please also check your Sim's inventory and delete saved photos if you have quite a few there.

    Thanks for the response!

I don't have anything saved from the gallery, and I can't delete pictures from my inventory because my save file was deleted but before that i didn't have any photos in my inventory.

I was using all ten save spaces (and I played all of them regularly) now two of them have been deleted because of this glitch. (The game deleted them not me)

There are only ten spots to begin with? And plenty of room on the Xbox. Why does the Sims offer ten spots if it can't support them? Honestly I want more spots not less...

How is the best solution to delete save files I'm still in the middle of using? How do I even make that choice? And I think it's crazy that I even should have to?

Please know that I appreciate your response and help and am certainly not upset with you personally in any way...but this whole situation is very frustrating. I've spent hundreds of dollars on a game (because it's my favorite game of all time) only to be majorly let down by it and the only solution being offered is to delete hours of work that I've poured my heart into.
