Sims 4 Console: Teen cannot learn Handiness Skill!

This is definitely a glitch! A teen Sim (who likes Handiness) cannot seem to learn it. He has been studying over and over again but no Handiness bar appears above his head. This is a glitch that I have seen before (not with Handiness specifically or with teens, but with characters not being able to learn a skill and/or the skill bar not appearing) on my brother's PS4, but this is the first time it happened on this system (also a PS4, but his is an older system). Before this glitch, this same Sim was able to learn Handiness skill, but I had to start this household again, so his skills went back to zero. Right now, it seems that he cannot learn Handiness. At least one adult Sim in the household has already learned level 3, so the problem seems to be with this one Sim.

Note: My brother's Sims game had a similar glitch two different times for about a week, in 2020 (possibly) and/or 2021 (definitely at least one week in 2021). A patch solved it.

Is there a way to fix or reset this issue or a workaround for it? Does turning the game off and reloading it solve this one?

I am concerned about starting a new save because I want to keep the Reaper's Rewards Event progress that I have.

This glitch was triggered by sending a teen to the bookshelf to read a Handiness book. There were probably 2 Handiness books in the house and 2 bookshelves. Both Handiness books were on the same bookshelf when one was selected and he began reading.

Additional context: my game crashed about 5 times since the Reaper's Rewards Event. I performed the troubleshooting, deleted all save files and Library, except for the User Data. I reloaded my save files and Library from September (before the crashing/corruption started), updated a house and saved it *without* the Mold Lot Challenge which was causing issues, and saved it to the Gallery.

DLC/Packs on this PS4: Base Game Deluxe, Grim's Ghoulish Guitar, Holiday Celebration, Outdoor Retreat, Get to Work, Luxury Party, Perfect Patio, Spa Day, Cool Kitchen, Spooky Stuff, Get Together (not yet installed), High School Years, Desert Luxe, Growing Together, For Rent, Backyard Stuff, Lovestruck, and just Pre-ordered Life and Death (not yet available or installed).

There is also a visitor on the lot having a stayover using the Growing Together features.

  • @Xemisa2World I've just tested this on teens in my game (on Xbox Series X) and it's working for me.

Have you tested other skills with this teen? I'd also test other ways of learning Handiness and see if all methods are broken, so I'd try the woodworking table, using the Tinker interaction on plumbing and see if the same thing happens.

I would also test on a different teen too if you haven't already in a different household. I sometimes use a base game Sim to test, so maybe someone like Malcolm Landgrabb or Cassandra Goth (if still teens in your game) by switching to his household for a minute. If you can take an image too that's useful.
