Sims Delivery pop-ups

Platform: Xbox

Version: Most recent

I keep getting pop-ups for new sims deliveries, asking me to restart my game and all unsaved data will be lost. I clicked yes once and then when I loaded back in I still kept getting more pop-ups. I press no hundreds of times and they keep coming back and freezing my game. I have gone onto the sims delivery section in settings and made it so it only checks for deliveries during start-up, but that doesn't help, I still get them. Also when I click Check for new content, it says "You have the latest sims delivery content!", even though it literally just notified me that I need to restart.

  • @a67e0f916580bcb7 hi there. Are you by any chance using Quick Resume? Because it produces a false SDX (Sim's Delivery) message or New Content message for me.

So every time I start my Game I go to Groups in my Xbox settings and remove Sims 4 from the Quick Resume group. Then I load my game fully instead. I don't get the message when I do that. Groups can be found by clicking the first option on the menu at the top of the Xbox home screen.

    Product: The Sims 4
    Platform:Xbox Series X
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Latest version
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All but life and death
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? New content has been installed regularly pops up in game, ie. if set to one hour it will pop up even if no new content is available, ie. check for new content says there is none, but it still pops up, even if you set new content to only on start up, it still pops up, the popup always displays twice, ie. click No, it pops up again.
What happens when the bug occurs? A popup to restart now shows up twice
What do you expect to see? To only show when content is available, and if its set to on start up, to only show on start up, not mid game The popup screen to not pop up twice in a row
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made? One of the newer patches

This happens on multiple XBOX profiles, even if restarting the game, it still appears to pop up mid game, even if you set it to only do so at start up

@simsplayer818 This happens mid game for me, multiple times throughout the day randomly with it set to only check on start up
  • @jtemplar That sounds incredibly annoying, have you tried changing the Check for Sims Deliveries to Never and toggle off Automatically Download, to see if that makes a difference? Any SDX content is included in game updates so on the rare occasion we get an SDX then you wouldn't miss out, you'd get it when the game updated. Unless you knew about it and could change the setting again to get a specific Sims Delivery or use the Check for new Content button.

Can I ask do you also get a message that you've lost your connection to Xbox live at the same time?

@simsplayer818 Yeah, it will randomly say lost connection, this seems to trigger the only on start up messages, the hourly checks just do it hourly, its weird as the XBOX seems to be connected fine

  • @jtemplar I've found some Xbox live troubleshooting steps here

    * Check your cables: Make sure all network cables are plugged in correctly and don't have any kinks, exposed wires, or stripped plastic shielding. You can also try replacing any cables that are damaged.

    * Power cycle your console and network hardware: Unplug the power cable from your router, modem, or gateway for five minutes. Then, restart your console and plug the power back in.

    * Check your wireless signal strength: A signal strength below 20% can cause connection problems.

    * Update your router's firmware: Check with your router manufacturer to see if there's a firmware update you can install.

    * Remove and then add your internet source again to your console.

    * Check for Xbox live outages.

It doesn't explain why it produces the SDX message though. But I hope it helps.
