Sims in Family Tree Showing as "Unknown"

Hi everyone,

I’m playing The Sims 4 on PS5, and I’ve run into an issue where several Sims in my family tree are showing up as “Unknown” instead of their names and portraits.

These Sims were previously visible and properly connected in the family tree, so something seems to have changed. Now:

Some relatives (including [parents/ancestors—customize]) appear as “Unknown”

Their portraits are missing/blank

The family tree looks incomplete or broken

Since I’m on console, I’m not using any mods or CC.

Things I’ve tried:

Restarting the game

Power cycling my PS5

Loading older saves (issue still present / partially fixed—customize)

I’m worried this might impact my legacy family long-term. Has anyone else on console experienced this, or found a fix/workaround?
