Sims4 Won't Let Me Type Cheats For PS4

I hold L1 L2 R1 R2 to open up the cheat bar. I am unable to type in cheat codes. It has worked many times before but it just suddenly stopped. Closing the game and restarting it and the PS4 doesn't work. I've tried a keyboard and a controller keyboard and it still wouldn't let me type anything. When I use the controller by itself the letter/number menu doesn't come up at at all.
