Theres like a glitch that won’t let my sims pay rent

So i had moved my sims into a bigger plot and out of an apartment because they started to have kids and stuff and then when i finished like decorating the interior of the house i decided id start playing in live mode and then it said rent was due and lights would turn off soon so i went to the mailbox to pay the rent but every time i clicked the button it wouldn’t pay it and would still say rent is due 

It eventually shut the water and electricity off and still would not let my sims pay i tried moving them to see if it was just that lot but it wasn’t and continued on to the next lot u moved them to. It’s also not just the mailbox because before electricity shut off i tried on the computer and i also tried on the phones.
