If you don't see the Alias it means you haven't correctly entered the command in Terminal.

I copy and paste them right into terminal and it still didn’t work

      I change it to USB

        The command works if you are entering the correct external drive name and entering the command correctly. Check your drive name is correct and the drive is properly mounted, and Terminal has permission to access the drive.
