Hi.
I got an external hard drive today in hopes to download Sims to it to not have to worry about it taking up storage on my mac. I have it set up on origin how you have stated so when I click download for sims it goes to the external hard drive but how do I go about getting the rest of the sims folders over to the hard drive, for the mods and everything.
EDIT -
I have done seemingly everything and am not sure where I am going wrong but have had to cross reference lots of things. I don't even know where to start anymore because everytime something different happens. I have followed everything to the tee but idk if you could help me through it from the start bc cross referncing is getting confusing
You need to create a symlink for the game to successfully access the Sims 4 folder on an external drive https://bluebellflora.com/saving-your-sims-4-folder-to-an-external-drive/
If you follow the instructions carefully, reading through them before even attempting the symlink so you properly understand what you're doing, why you're doing it, and how to reverse it, you'll be fine.

So I download origin, change the SIMS download settings in origin to the hard drive to download SIMS then I can do the symlink?
When I goto make the Alias electronic arts folder alias and it creates but as an Electronic Arts document alias, like it makes an alias but it has a white rectangle instead of the blue folder.
Another question is do I have to put the origin application into the external hard drive? - 3 years ago
I believe I have figured it out, had to do with origin and how it was uninstalled, I will run it and lyk of any issues
