So I recently moved my sims 4 game to an external drive using a symlink. The files successfully moved and I changed the game saves in origin to the drive. The only problem I’m running into is that a new electronic arts folder keeps being created on my computer and not the drive. How can I fix it to only save and operate from the drive.
I don’t know a whole lot about this stuff, only as much as I’ve learned from a few posts on here, so I may need detailed instructions.

Origin has absolutely nothing to do with the symlink process, and nothing to do with your saves. I'm not sure what instructions you're reading but you may have misunderstood or they are wrong.
If the game is recreating the Electronic Arts folder in your local Documents folder it means you have not created the symlink.
Firstly, why are you wanting to move your Sims 4 folder to an external drive?
How much space is available on your Mac?
Where is your actual game installed?
