Big black square only in Newcrest world

No worries, there are other things to try. I went straight for the driver update because it really improves graphics overall in the game.

    - Have you repaired the game? Right click on it in your Origin games library and select Repair Game

    - If you play around with your in-game graphics options does it make it go away?

That looks....... horrible! As you're on an older Mac with NVIDIA graphics you may be able to fix it by downloading and installing a better NVIDIA driver that the one your Mac currently uses. Instructions are here - https://bluebellflora.com/manually-update-nvidia-geforce-graphics-drivers-in-os-x/

If you're not comfortable doing it (completely understandable) then you could try updating your macOS to a later version and see if that fixes it.

@Bluebellflora Yes ... it's obnoxious. But thank you for the tip though it might be a bit too techy for me. I might just have to live with that black square for now.

Yes, the first thing I did was to try and adjust the display settings...windowed..graphics...shadow..etc and then repair game from origin console before posting here.

I even deleted an app "Be Focused" timer app because I noticed the game and the app(on my toolbar) both flickering when I loaded the game but it didn't help. 🙂

Oh! How did you delete it? There may be files still related to the app in your user and system Library resulting in processes still running if you had it set to always run.
