Black Square Over Lot

I’m part way through building a house. When I logged in to carry on, there was a black square blocking the lot. If I click on it anyway then the screen will flash and then crash. 

The house is on the biggest lot available (Landcraabs house) and is very large. I have no custom content installed. I don’t even have any expansion or stuff packs, just the digital deluxe version of sims 4. 

I’m running the game on a 2012 MacBook Pro- 

Ram: 8gb

Processor: 2.3GHz Intel Core i7 

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
