can't open the game

i literally played the game yesterday and everything went well. now, i'm trying to open the game on my mac, but the cursor turns into the rainbow wheel until you move it again, then nothing happens and i have to force quit the game.

this has been happening a lot but i went through my mods and everything was fine til now. i literally played it not even 24hrs ago n it was FINE i did not add any cc today i am so confused someone pls help :(
