Cinematic Camera Trouble

Hi everyone!

I was using the cinematic camera for the first time earlier today and it was working perfectly!

When I came back to my game in the evening, I had some trouble with it.

I was in live mode, hit TAB, chose an angle and held "Control 5", then chose another angle and held "Control 6". When I went to hit just 5 and then just 6, it was as if the game didn't save the angles. Nothing happened.

I even reinstalled the game (I had been changing the camera settings and thought that I might have messed them up), and it still is not working like it was earlier. It's also odd that my camera was moving much faster in the TAB mode in the evening than it was in the afternoon, even before I messed with the camera settings.

Not sure if it matters, but I'm using a mac.

I would really appreciate any help! Thanks!

Can you open the VideoCameraStates.ini file in your Sims 4 folder and c/p the text into a post here? TextEdit can open the file if you're prompted for an app.

Thanks. You can reset the camera positions by trashing the VideoCameraStates.ini file in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > VideoCameraStates. Try resetting them again after trashing the file and see how you get on. Remember to never use CTRL 9 for a camera position 🙂

The good news is that trashing that file did something.

    I went to live mode.

Then I hit the TAB button to go into camera mode.

I pressed and held "Control 5" then pressed and held "Control 6" in a different location.

When I held "Shift 5" and "Shift 6" it did alternate between the two locations instantaneously.

When I pressed just 5 or just 6, it took me into the sky right next to the sun 😃

If I go into build mode and press 5 or 6, the camera does alternate between the two points very quickly (around a 1 second move), but it's not acting that way at all in live mode.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

The differences in build and live mode sound normal and as they always have been. The only odd thing that you're having is the camera spinning up to the sun but this is also something that often happens. Try 7 and 8 as well.

You can actually refine the tab camera a lot if you edit a game file called VideoCamera.ini located within the game app. As well as expanding the pitch you can change the speed when it moves. A simple google will yield a load of results on other sites that may help if you want to adjust speed 🙂
