I am not an expert, but I looked up error code 801 and it says it is usually related to cc or mods. If you have any, remove the mod folder and see if the game starts up. If it does start you can start adding cc and mods back in a few at a time to see which one it is. It could be an outdated mod. If you don't use cc or mods, then I saw where it was suggested that you clear your sims inventory get rid of stuff they don't need and do the same for your gallery. If you have stuff from other creators that you haven't used in a long time, they suggest you get rid of them and keep only items in your gallery you use on the regular, then try restarting game. If that doesn't work reset user files.
