It turns out there was indeed a fix for this issue in todays' patch (Mac version 1.95.207.1230), but we accidentally failed to mention it in the patch notes.

Every time I quit the game it crashes. It becomes unresponsive and you need to force quit to close it. It's happened at leat a dozen times and I'm not too sure when it started. I don't think as far back as werwolves. maybe desert lux. I only recently installed some of the other Kits and I can't recall if it was before or after. happens with and without mods. Curious if it's just me or a bug in the game. should have reported it when it first happened. but its when you're leaving the game not during the game.

Thanks. Glad they’re working on it. Can’t afford to run out and buy a PC and really don’t want to have to learn how to use one again. There’re pros and * to every system. But unfortunately game makers invest in PC gaming and rarely on Mac gaming. If I could play more games on my Mac I would.
