game broken (?)

for a few months now i have not been able to play the sims 4 properly- i open up the game and everything is fine, only for a few minutes. after a few minutes the game completely freezes. which then...

Enable vsync in the game options if it is not enabled.

only now i have another question... i cant zoom in and out with my touchpad. is there a setting to let me do this?

  Good question about the touchpad. I always use the - and + buttons on the keyboard. I thinking zooming in is two finger swipe up and down?

    I am experiencing freezing also about 20 minutes into gameplay. It actually freezes why whole MacBook which is a 2021 16inch with M1 silicone chip, i have to manually press the power button to shut it down.
    I noticed it started happening with the patch just before home chef hustle came out.
    any advice would be much appreciated
