Game broken since update

Hi so when I say my games broken I mean I recently restarted playing 3 days ago so a couple days after the horse ranch update typically when we get new updates I  delete my mods folder completely and start a new game the only difference is I recently downloaded the family expansion pack. I added brand new cc and updated mods and added a new mod folder here’s where things get strange. I didn’t notice at first but it took a complete hours for my screen to get off loading to get into Cas and when it did the screen was completely white for a good 3-5 minutes then I freaked here’s where I freaked The bottom of my computer screen was glitching like I had broken it or something. I panicked because I have a Mac and my computers beyond expensive but then I clicked out to see my battery life then I noticed there was no glitch. The glitch only appears when I’m in the game next issue after getting out of CAS it takes and additional 1 hour to get me into a world then I took a break from the game shut it down went back to play and when I clicked resume it stayed on the loading screen it wouldn’t let me access anything because it was on infinite loading. So I delete the whole game remove all cc and try again the next day and same issues with and without cc simply put the games broken at least for me it is I’ve seen a couple other Mac users experiencing the same thing can someone help seriously I’ve tried everything.

Was it an EA customer support rep. who told you your Mac isn't compatible with the game? That's appalling if so.

Whilst your Mac may struggle to properly run the game without lag because it is very underpowered (the old Intel MacBook Airs did struggle due to not being designed for any sort of gaming), it is compatible and is capable of running the game.

Moving onto your issue though, I'm very interested that you're experiencing it because there haven't been any reports here for a few years. Do you have links to the other people you mentioned have had issues? Your Intel HD 5000 chip was one of the ones experiencing this problem, as evidenced in the thread I linked. Users there reported that disabling Edge Smoothing in the in-game graphics options got rid of the horrible lines at the bottom of the game window.

Do you have any links to the other users who have experienced this? It was an issue a few years ago but was fixed. Would be good to see any recent posts as maybe the bug has come back.

Please can you provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so and what to provide here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612396/highlight/true#M162

Follow these steps to launch a new clean game. Do not move any of your current content such as saves, Mods, tray files into the newly created Sims 4 folder  - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M163

I went online to a site called downdetector and for a week other players have complained of this glitch. I just talked to EA player and they said my mac isn't compatible with the game i never even knew this was possible but im receiving a refund and the game gets revoked. Thanks for the help

Your Mac is totally compatible but I can’t read that screenshot, copying and pasting the info from About This Mac would help 🙂
  • Your correct because after EA revoked my expansion my game still has a glitch at the bottom of the screen and the loading is still infinite. I can't believe they lied and/or misinformed me even though I got a refund now i have to repay for my expansion after i get this fixed.

this is my mac information: (13-inch, Early 2014),

    1.4 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5,

    4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3,

ntel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

  • Yes it was an EA rep I never had an issue with my game before i have 15 sims games and expansion packs so i never thought it could be my computer so i assumed it was me and listened to the rep. Im upset because I was recently told by another rep that I have to wait for a new developer update to fix my game and whenever that happens I have to repurchase the expansion pack im over it all and simply deleted the game ill revisit it in a couple months.

before i came to forums i went here https://downdetector.com/status/the-sims-4/ to see if anyone else was having issues feel free.

thanks for trying to help but i don't think there's any fixing this even if I get the glitch off my screen im still stuck on an infinite loading screen after it comes off i don't even want to play anymore I've cleared cache deleted multiple files restarted apps deleted apps its nothing more i can do.

    UPDATE!

So i did what you suggested one last time removed my game let it generate a new one and the glitch is gone i didn't turn on edge smoothing or anything the I added back cc and mods it did still load a little slow but I have a mac not made for gaming so its expected it didn't loading for hours it took maybe 5-10 minutes and i do have a hefty amount off cc installed so its doing good. Thank you and screw EA Support.

The infinite game loading screen is often fixed by moving the Sims 4 folder to the desktop and then launching the game. It creates a whole new folder.
