Game Crashed (Mac)

My game crashes, despite having saved multiple times when I restart the game it starts that same family on an older save and not the most recent save. Therefore, I have to do a lot again.. I can't pinpoint what I was doing when the game crashed cause often times this happens when I look away from the computer screen. I'm using a Mac to play Sims 4.
