same for me, I need to keep testing in other saves to see if there's just one that might be corrupted. For me, I'll be building and it crashes randomly after either a few minutes or a few hours after saving a handful of times. It usually crashes while trying to save, so I lose all of my progress.

Also happening for me! Has been happening randomly, typically while building, and with no particular frequency. No mods installed In case anyone understands it, this is the last crash txt from my game last night:

I’m on mac as well. Just yesterday, (April 6, 2025), it’s gotten to the point where every time I go in game and unpause, it crashes. After about 5 seconds of being unpaused. (Before it had occurred while I was building the night before, I thought it was because I had left the game running while doing other tasks and didn’t stress it). The next day I had downloaded more mods/custom content is when it started crashing like crazy; I speculated that it was because I deleted a couple of files: lastCrash, localthumbcache, Options.ini, WickedWhimsInfo.Log, localsimtexture.cache, avatarcache.package, Config.log, and possibly others. I’ve taken out the newer mods that I had added to see if it was those but it wasn’t, BetterExceptions even showed me there was no broken mods in my game. I updated my computer to the latest macOS.
I need help, I’m a complete rookie when it comes to things like this, I just love the game and like to play it… then some major issue comes to stop me from playing. I really don’t know what to do and I want to get back to gameplay as soon as possible.

Crashing for me today too, but I can't even get the game to open or stay open. Has anyone tried the repair? I have no mods
- KrispeeChiken4 months agoNew Novice
I have tried the repair - I have also uninstalled sims and EA and then reinstalled both to try and fix it. I don't know what to do, I just want to play the game!!

Let me know if you find a fix. Previously this was happening on a M1 MacBook Air 8GB RAM 256GB Storage 2020 Model. Same as everyone is describing; The game quits out randomly and whatever edits were done are deleted. Save file goes back to what it was before opening the game. We just traded in that M1 MacBook Air for a M4 MacBook Air 24GB Ram and 512GB storage. We didn't get the new laptop specifically for Sims 4 but we thought maybe it would fix the issue since everything is new and updated.
TLDR: M4 MacBook Air with Sequoia 15.4 (Sims 4 still crashes) NO MODS! VANILLA.

Having the same problem; no mods, no just started freezing and crashing randomly. Usually when panning the camera. Never had trouble before now.

For me it doesn't even let me play! I open the game, and as soon as it reaches to the loading screen, it automatically shuts down! I haven't been able to play for about 1-2 weeks.

I did the repair through the EA app. It got stuck at 86%. Had to pause it, reboot my computer and them resume. This actually worked for me, I am now able to play again finally

Same and even if I save it doesn't even take me back to the part that I saved 🤦🏾♀️

I’m having this issue as well

I am noticing it takes a while to launch the game. It takes waay too long, even when I tried it with a new save. Hopefully they fix this soon.

I've also been having this problem, sometimes it crashes several times in one gaming session.
Here's my last crash.txt if anyone can read it, I play with a lot of mods and I've recently redid my entire mods folder and did a HUGE cc & mods cleanout 😭 😭

same;(

I have a few mods, so I went to this page to see if that was the issue, but it seems to be happening to many people. They were all working perfectly fine before the update in April. After that, it's crashing before even getting into the game. I repaired the game several times, restarted my Mac, etc. But it still crashes as the loading screen is going. Has EA fixed or addressed this issue?
- saraamazit13 months agoSeasoned Newcomer
I removed all my mods as well just to test if something in there was the issue. Repaired the game. Still crashing at loading. It's been over a week that it does this. Does anyone know what's going on?
