Game Freezes in Build Mode

Hi all! Wondering if anyone could help me!! I've gotten back into my Sims binge and played it for a few days now. I have quite a few packs and mods for context. My game was fine until 3 days ago. I opened it up to play and tried to replace a chair for my desk (the chair was cc), but when I tried to drag a new chair in, even a base game one, it wouldn't place it. It just stays in the hand-holding symbol over the chair. When I try to play in live mode, my game then freezes altogether. I can move my view, but at the bottom, it says paused even when it's not. My sim won't move, and then when I exit, it never leaves the saving screen until I force quit it!! I hope someone can help and understand my issue!! - Many thanks <3
