Update: Just went back into the game after posting this just one last time - was trying to re-do the build mode updates I lost in the last crash and it crashed again about 15 minutes into building. I could tell it was crashing because I went to build a wall and it wouldn't do it. So i tried to save, and it's now stuck in that loop.
ImARebelDottie try a whole new clean Sims 4 folder. Play a new save and see if it works as it should. If it does add your user data back in in small batches, testing after adding each batch. Full instructions here - [INSTRUCTIONS] How to troubleshoot and test a broken game | EA Forums - 11864548
This eliminates problems with your user data if it keeps crashing in a clean game and we can move onto potential issues on your Mac or EA App.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you Bluebellflora !
I'll work my way through those steps and report back. Appreciate you!- ImARebelDottie3 months agoNew Novice
BluebellfloraI have followed all the steps and have not had the same cadence of crash happen again at each stage of copying everything to the clean save. There were a couple moments where I thought we might be going down, but it ended up coming back.
I guess my next step is playing on this new save (with the copied over files) for more than 5 minutes and see if it crashes with extended play. But if you have any other steps you would suggest I try to figure out who the culprit really was, more than happy to try. Thank you again for your help!

Great 🙂 No, no other suggestions. Those instructions are comprehensive and detailed enough. Each user's game setup is unique to them so you need to simply work your way through and find which files are causing the issue. Most of the time it's mods but sometimes saves can become corrupted or even settings can cause the issue.
