Game keeps creating new save folder.

Hello, 

I updated my Sims 4 game and during the update I thought I would buy a bundle with an expansion pack, game pack, and a stuff pack so I can download those after it updates and have everything ready for me to use. 

I got the game going and it showed me the pop-up for the 3 packs I got and details for them, though I didn't actually get any of the content in build mode or in cas. So, I tried restarting the game and the computer multiple times and nothing was working. I then decided to try and make a backup copy of my game file so that I can do a game repair and have a backup if anything goes wrong. 

However while doing this, I ran into an issue where my MacBook air kept telling me I couldn't copy the files over because it couldn't read them so I looked some stuff up and this one thing said to take the file out of my ICloud. I did that and was still unable to make copies so then I tried to get into the game again but it started a new save file like the one from before never existed. 

I have tried putting my old save file back into my iCloud and deleting the new save files that the game kept creating every time that I launched it, but it just kept creating new files. I tried renaming my original file, it is called "Electro Arts" and inside it is "The Sims 4" but still nothing changes. 

I don't know what to do from me as I have my original save files still, I just can't seem to load them into the game whenever I launch it. I don't want to try something and accidentally lose my original file in the process, so any help is greatly appreciated!
