game won't launch // folder looks odd.

a few days ago i purchased the high school pack and i already have a ton of packs and mods and cc and stuff, so i'm experienced in that field. But after downloading the pack my game wouldn't launch anymore. When i would try to start it, it would open and start loading but then just shut down. i contacted EA a bunch of times and with their help i rebooted my imac, did a cache thing with origin (i'm no tech expert so idk what it's called), i've removed my mods, i also did a thing where i moved the sims folder out onto my desktop and let the game create a new folder and then i moved my mods and saves into the new folder and it would work fine and i could play again but when i turned the game off, i couldn't launch the game again and there would come a cache folder in the sims folder and i tried removing it and then i could play again but that doesn't work anymore. I've reinstalled both origin and the game, i've also tried installing the game without the high school pack but now where i've reinstalled the game, the folder looks weird. It only contains ConfigOverride, saves, UserData.lock and UserSetting.ini. Basically, nothing is working.

I've just reset my whole imac to get it back to the default settings and i installed origin and sims again and it still isn't working and the folder is still looking weird.

someone please help, i'm getting desperate.

    Move the Sims 4 folder from Documents > Electronic Arts to the desktop and then attempt to launch the game. Don't move any of the content into the newly created folder yet.

    Does the game launch ok?

    i just tried it and that doesn't work either.. i also uninstalled the game again and reinstalled just the base game but that didn't work either.

    just the sims 4 folder and the sims folder just looks like this (the picture attached)

    And in the newly created Sims 4 folder it’s just those files again?

    Can you go into System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Files & Folders and make sure there is a tick in the box next to the game. If it isn’t checked you need to check it.

    Yes.

    The reason it wasn’t working before is because you hadn’t granted full permission to the game to access the Documents folder. During the installation and first launch of the game a window will have popped up asking for permission for the game to access the Documents folder. You must click Allow. If you click Deny the game can’t properly launch because it can’t properly create the files and folders needed.

    @Bluebellflora okay thank you so much.

    i just put my old saves in the game, which are working but then i put my mods in and it's saying basically all mods are broken. will it help redownloading all my mods?
