HELP! My CC won't show up! Tried EVERYTHING

Hi guys,

I've been playing sims for a long time now and my CC has suddenly stopped showing within the game. All my mods even show up at the start up of the game but are just not there when I play. I HAVE:

  • Changed the 'game options' settings a hundred times - as if there was an update
  • Restarted my Mac
  • Taken my mods folder out of the folders and put back
  • Deleted mods and put them back
  • I have cleared up storage on my laptop

I do not know what else to do, any ideas or has this happened to anyone else?

  • @kishajtb  You likely have at least one outdated mod in your folder.  The easiest way to test this is to move your entire TS4 game folder to your desktop, and then launch the game to create a clean folder.  Then download just one mod that its creator has updated since the last patch was released.  (The mod pages should all list their updates and confirm that they're compatible with a fully patched game.)  Launch the game again and load a new save, just to see whether that mod appears in-game.  If it does, you can put it aside and start testing your other mods in batches.  Any batch that doesn't show up in-game needs to split and tested again until you find the file(s) causing your issues.  It may be easier to just download new versions of as many mods as you can, since many of them will have needed updating.

The same principle for testing your content applies to cc, although some items may not have needed an update.  Still, it needs to be tested, preferably in a clean folder so that you're not messing with your existing saves, to sort through which items still work.  After you're done—i.e. your new game folder has all the mods and cc you want, and everything is working in-game—you can move your existing saves from your old folder into your new one.
