How do I close The Sims 4?

I need to shut down my computer but keep getting a message that I can't shut down because the Sims 4 is running. How do I close the game?

So you can’t actually open the game? Click on the Apple menu then Force Quit. Choose the Sims 4 if it is in the list of running apps.
