I am seeing a laser show when I zoom out

I never knew that a medieval Sim had very powerful archery with light! I think I've deleted a config.sys file for the game. My files were looking messy for mods and so I moved things into new folders and then I saw so many config.sys files that I became confused and tried to delete them.

Seems to be ok otherwise, except I had a really delayed loading before that and then I grabbed the newest config.sys file I could find in my trash and put it in the general Sims folder, not the Mods. Not too worried, but it's definitely not the usual!

  • I meant resource.cfg! And there are copies and I moved it back under Mods and the light show is still going on in the dark when she just wants to build her house!

  • This is what she looks like closeup. Looks great! But then there is something stretching out when I zoom way out.

  • Tried to copy my Mods into another folder and got this error message,

Sounds like a mess! Start again with a clean Sims 4 folder:

    1. Makes sure the game is closed
    2. Rename the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts. Just add OLD or something to the filename.
    3. Launch the game and quit at the main menu
    4. Replace the following file and folders in the newly created Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts with your old ones:
      1. saves
      2. Mods
      3. Tray
      4. Usersettings.ini
    5. Launch the game

    Does it still happen?

As soon as I opened the game after renaming the Sims folder with "The Sims 4 OLD", this came up!

  • I haven't changed anything about my computer settings. I have a MacBook Air M2 2022. Plenty of storage.
