I can't find my sims 4 folder anywhere

Ok I'm just going to apologize rn for how dumb this happened. Sooooo my Sims game wasn't even loading so I could play, it kept trying to open then it would close and open Origin. I looked up a few things and someone posted something that said it works. It said that if I moved the whole "Sims 4" folder somewhere else, opened Origin, closed it again, then move the "Sims 4" folder back to its spot and then it's all good. So I did that and moved everything back to where it supposed to go and it all looked good. But when I went back to where I put the "Sims 4" folder temporarily, there was still one there. I assumed that I copied it so I just threw that one away and cleared it all out (I can't stand my trash bin being full), right after I did that I thought to myself "well I should've checked first" and I should've. I went back to the "Electronic Arts", opened it, opened "Sims 4" and it told me that the original folder couldn't be found. So I went back and had to download everything again and the "Sims 4' folder is still gone but when I go to the launchpad (I have a Mac) "Sims 4" is there. Please help me, I don't know much about computers except what I really need to.

The Sims 4 in your Applications folder and Launchpad is the actual game.

The Sims 4 in your Documents > Electronic Arts folder is your user data. This is where your saves are stored, in-game graphics settings, CC/Mods if you use them, and game cache files.

When you move the Sims 4 folder out of the Electronic Arts folder and launch your game it is forcing the game to create a new Sims 4 folder as it thinks you are launching your game for the first time. This is the first, and most important, troubleshooting step as user data can become corrupted resulting in a game which will not load.

  • I thought my game would give me a new file, and I was trying to reset my folder to fix an issue, so I deleted my folder and played the game and it didn't give me a new folder, can I get like a copy of a blanks sims file or find a way to get a new one besides that? i've tried downloading a backup steam sims folder but it wasn't the same type of sims folder

Have you launched the game? The Sims 4 folder is created when you launch the game if one doesn't already exist in Documents > Electronic Arts.

I tried launching the game and creating a save file and the file is still not reappearing. Should I just recreate a new blank folder that says " Electronic Arts" and launch the game again?

And Since I have my mods, tray and save folders copied, if the sims 4 folder does reappear, should I replace the entire mods, tray and save folder or do i just replace the =m by dragging the items in the copies folders.

  • UPDATE: I found the file when i searched up Electronic Arts, I the documents folder i was looking was a mnaually made folder not the offical documents folder that i accidentally removed.
