where do i install the sims 4? is it under macintosh hd > user > username > applications > documents > electron arts? is it further deeper into that EA folder? like within sims 4 itself? no clear instructions anywhere
i guess what i’m asking is does it NEED to be under username >> documents? this doesn’t show anywhere for me when i have icloud syncing on
So to be clear my installation location should never be anything other than directly inside Applications > EA Games > Sims 4? It should not be within Applications > EA Games > Sims 4 > Documents, correct?

You shouldn't need to pick a subfolder inside Documents or Electronic Arts when downloading Sims 4 on Mac; the EA app should handle it for you. After the install, Sims 4 will be in Applications, with save files and mods in Macintosh HD > Users > username > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, unless iCloud syncing is on.
With iCloud syncing, your saves, mods, and other files would be in iCloud Drive > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 instead. Though, with iCloud active, the game may take longer to load and face more technical difficulties, since some files stored on the cloud wouldn't be immediately accessible upon launch.
