is it okay to completely delete your mods folder?

Recently I have been having some trouble with my mods folder. I have tried to delete out of date mods to get my game to work, but even with all of them gone, my game is still broken. I was wondering if it was okay to just completely delete my entire mods folder or if that would hurt/delete other stuff in my game.

    If you have saved games that have CC in them, such as sims with CC clothes or houses with CC items then yes, those items will no longer be in your game however your game should still work but it depends what the CC does in-game.

    When removing the Mods folder to see if it is the cause of an issue you should always delete the localthumbcache.package file too.
