Loading Screen will NOT stop loading

I redownloaded the sims today and was playing for a good five hours until I got stuck on the loading screen and I waited for awhile because I didn't want to lose my progress but I gave up and then force quit and then tired again and again and it still kept loading. I've tried tutorials such as replacing my EA file with a new one and copying and pasting my saves back and when I did it kept loading again. I tried restarting my mac and repairing the game as well as "renaming" my file old and reseting it. Although it did work when I started on a completely new save but I don't want to lose my saves. I have zero mods and plenty of storage on my mac. Idk what else to do!! Help
