Mac Camera Rotate/Tilt with Scroll Wheel Glitch and Game Lock Up

Starting yesterday (1/27/20) after a few minutes of gameplay, when I use the scroll wheel button on my mouse (a wired USB mouse) to rotate and tilt the camera, the camera starts glitching out (not spinning like the known PC problem, but a crazy-fast back and forth of the camera movement I was trying to do) and the game locks up. My only option is to force quit it.

Hopefully you can see the video in this Tweet of mine: pic.twitter.com/IgeSGlb1jN

System specs are below. I will be testing it without my mods folder tonight after work, so assuming that doesn't fix the problem, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

  • iMac 27 (Late 2012)
  • macOS Sierra (10.12.6) *I can't update this as internal drive is shot and the computer boots off an external
  • 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5
  • 16GB memory
  • NVIDIA GEForce GTX 660M 512 MB]
  • Origin In Game is OFF
  • Using Sims 3 camera mode

  • Update Game link is visible in settings menu in Origin, but whenever I click it says my game is up to date
  • All Expansion Packs installed
  • Game Packs: Jungle Adv, Outdoor Retreat

Your only option to fix this is upgrade to a later version of Sierra, as I think you already know ☹️ You can still upgrade it even though you're booting from an external. After downloading High Sierra or later through the Mac App Store the installation window will open and the bootable Sierra drive will show next to the broken Macintosh HD (I had the same issue with my old iMac).
