Mac Overheating? Sacred I'm going to break my laptop!

So, I've been dying to get my hands on Sims 4 (yes, I know I am extremely late to the party), but the main reason I've been putting it off for so long is because I'm afraid I'm going to ruin my MacBo...

@AbiDisneyNerd I run a MacPro and one fan is always on when I play the Sims and it gets SUPER hot. I worry about it as well. I read somewhere that if your fan comes on like that you need to get it cleaned, which I have been intending to do for ages, and I hope that will solve the problem. So to answer your question... I have no idea. You'll have to try it and see. However, I'm 100% sure that just trying it won't hurt your computer even if the fans come on. Just quit the game if it happens.

Mac Pro? Or a MacBook Pro? If it is a 15" MacBook Pro or a Touch Bar 13" MacBook Pro it has dual fans so if one is only working you should get that looked at. All other 13" MacBook Pros only have one fan, like the MacBook Airs.

Your fan should always come on as it prevents overheating. You should worry if the fans DON'T come on 🙂

Make sure your Mac is elevated, don't sit it on a nice soft surface.

  @Bluebellflora Thank you! It's a MacBook Pro 13". I just assumed it had two fans since the one that comes on is on the left... not having a matching one on the right seems weird!
