Help! After updating my game on 3/17/26, my game won’t even launch. And if it does decide to launch, it won’t allow me to save, play, or exit the game without force quitting. I do not play with any mods or custom content, and repairing the game did not work. What should I do?
I can't even get that far. mine is buffering at the first screen and when I go to force quit my mac confirms that sims is "not responding"
I'm having the same issue. My game won't launch. No mods. Since I had to delete mods for the update I was going to take the opportunity to download two more packs, but I can't even type in my credit card info to buy the packs. My keyboard works for all other apps on my computer but for some reason can't type in EA.
The exact same thing for me. Except my sims picture that's usually in the bottom left was also missing.
Same... tried to launch the game several times today, it always ended up back i the EA launcher without any error message... will try it without mods tomorrow, to late over here (1:30 AM) to give it another try,
I went to restart my game and it said there was an update. After reading the details of the update I decided to go offline for now. When I restart the game, 2 sims from my current household are bald and 2 are not wearing shirts! When I click on "Load Game", it says it needs to verify I have the game packs (see screenshot). WHAT THE H*LL HAPPENED?!?!?
An update: I removed all mods in my folder (Except MCCC because I wanted to test today's tandem update) and that has my game up and running again, so it appears that at least in some cases mods may be effecting it. I know that doesn't account for other reports in this thread from folks who DON'T use mods, though.
Same here, I tried enabling mods again after the update (my mistake), and now I can't even load back into the game to turn them off. I even tried a full reinstall, still getting stuck here
I get stuck with the first loading screen into the game but don’t even get to the part where the sims 4 logo appears if that makes sense. And the one time I actually got into the game, it was so bugged out that I didn’t wanna risk playing with any families and decided to exit, but after hitting save and exit game i get stuck with a frozen screen and end up having to force quitting the game.
I am having the same issue, both with and without mods. I do not even have the options menu to toggle anymore. I do not receive any error messages, and have already tried repairing my game as well. Here is a screenshot of what I get if the game decides to launch:
Clicking the buttons does not work, esc key does not pull up buttons, etc. The window is fully unresponsive.
Can you share some more details what happens ? Do you get any error messages or what happens when you try to launch/save ?
